Department Introduction

  Introduction

    The department was established in 1999 and began operating an independent ward in 2002. From 2003 to 2010, it was recognized as a Shenzhen Key Medical Specialty. In 2004, the department received a Class B Liver Transplantation License from the Guangdong Medical Association and was reapproved for organ transplantation by the Ministry of Health in 2011.

  The department serves as one of the first standardized residency training bases in general surgery in China and is a certified Ministry of Health Endoscopy Diagnosis and Treatment Training Base for General Surgery. It also hosts master’s programs in collaboration with Shenzhen University, Guangzhou Medical University, Shantou University, Guangdong Medical University, and Anhui Medical University, as well as doctoral programs in partnership with institutions such as Anhui Medical University.

  The department has a capacity of 50 beds and includes a specialist outpatient clinic, an endoscopy training room, and a choledochoscopy room, with two subspecialties focusing on liver surgery and biliary and pancreatic surgery.

  Team and Expertise

  The department has a total of 35 medical and nursing staff, including:

  •4 professors/chief physicians

  •5 associate chief physicians

  •2 associate chief nurses

  •1 expert recognized with the State Council Special Allowance

  •4 staff members with overseas training experience
